Jacki Strenio named 2017 Outstanding Graduate Instructor
After a competitive review process, Jacki Strenio has been named the Outstanding Graduate Instructor of 2017! Students from many departments on campus, who took economics courses during Spring, Summer and Fall 2016, were asked to nominate a graduate instructor who made their experience at the University meaningful. Members of the undergraduate SAC and faculty in the department reviewed the nomination responses and additional materials to determine this year's winner.
During 2016 Jacki taught ECON 5190 and 6190 Health Economics. Survery-responders said Jacki made all students feel included and part of the group, encouraged them to take their ideas to the next level and provided engaging class meetings through many types of instruction. One student even said, "[Jacki] has been one of my favorite instructors I have had throughout my college career."
Many of our other graduate instructors received similar praise, and we are grateful for their excellent work in the classroom.
Again congratulations, Jacki! This award is certainly well-deserved. Thank you for creating a lasting impact on the students at the University of Utah.
